Jio Telephone is a ‘smart’ feature phone, know why

Reliance Jio’s 4G phones, which came almost free, created a tremendous movement with the coming of it. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, unveiled the company’s annual general meeting this year from the Jio 4G phone. Ever since the launch, discussion about the specifications, begins and shortcomings of Jio 4G phone started. Jio phone was described by chairman Mukesh Ambani as ‘Intelligent smartphone of India’ at the time of launch. This phone has many features like VoLTE calling, Jio app, app download, internet and video calling that make it different and special in the market from other feature phones. The company had informed at the time of launch that after the start of pre-booking in August, the phone will start getting from September 21. We tell you how the live feature phone is different compared to other feature phones.

• First of all, let’s talk about the network used in Jio phone. Jio phone supports 4G and comes with VoLTE network. It automatically connects to Reliance Jio Network. That is, the SIM card of any other network can not be used in a live phone. You will be able to make HD calls. While talking about the second feature phone present in the market, the SIM card of any telecom network can be used. This is a very big upgrade for feature phone users.

• Jio phone comes with a single SIM slot. And it has space for a Nano-SIM card. That is, you will not be able to use more than one SIM in a live phone. And if you want to use two numbers together then you will need another device. Today, while most of the devices in the country come dual SIMs, Jio disappoints to get single SIM support in the phone. At the same time, most other feature phones which are available to buy in the market today support two SIMs.

• The third feature is the voice command that makes the Jio phone different from another feature phone. Jio phone has a voice assistant who can handle the basic command in English as well as English. Will be able to search on Google. And will also be able to compose SMS by speaking. A phone can do basic task like calling or launching apps. This feature is not available in another common feature phone.

• The feature phone has very simple type of task app. But in Jio phone you will find apps like Jio Music, Jio TV and GV Cinema. Jio store has been given a live store. Here you will find all the apps that are made for the phone. These include Jio’s apps like Jio Cinema, Jio TV and Jio Music. The music stream gets stream. You can watch television serial and also have cinema for entertainment. It is also reported that separate apps should be made available for YouTube and Facebook in the coming time.

• In terms of feature phone, media streaming facility in Jio phone makes it different from other common feature phones. We also tried to stream the song on the Geomusic app and did a good job. We also run the Geosinem and JioTV app and found that streaming on 4G networks is spectacular. We were successful in streaming the entire cinema over the phone. No other common feature phones have been provided with media streaming.

• Jio phones also have geolocation and NFC with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. You can use NFC for tap and go payment. At the moment, this feature is not rolled out. And with the help of future updates, you will be able to pay Jan Dhan accounts, UPI accounts, bank accounts and debit-credit cards and also pay payment. Both these features are also not available in other common feature phones.

• You will also be able to see the phone content on the television screen in the coming time. The company will soon provide a cable TV accessory for this. The phone has a software update facility. The company will give OTA updates. It is expected that Reliance Jio will make more features a part of this phone in the coming time.

• You cannot stay in contact with your experts only with phone calls or messages. You will also be able to make video calls. Jio phone comes with a video calling feature, which you do not find in any other feature phone. Video calls are possible through a particular app. At the moment, you will get this special facility on Jio Network itself.
