According to a report by ARS Technica, Google has removed 16 apps from Play Games Pack. They were detected by Security firm McAfee. All these apps were available to download on Android smartphones and tablets. All apps were listed as the Yutality application. These apps were being used for normal works such as the phone’s flashlight, currency converter, QR code scan, calculator.
In the list of deleted apps, Busanbus, Joycode, Foreign Money Converter, High-Pace Digital Camera, Smart Task Manage (Flashlight+), okay-dictionary, fast be aware, Ezdica, Instagram Profile Downloader (Instagram Profile Downloader) and Ez Notes.
McAfee found that once they are opened, these apps download the code code, who get notifications to open a web page without alerting users, clicking on links and advertisements. This activity enhances artificial advertisements in an artificial manner, which is a form of advertising fraud.
The security firm found that these apps had adhaware code called “com.LivePosting” and “Com.Click.cas”. These codes allowed apps to click on links and advertisements. All this happens without users’ knowledge, which costs the extra battery and also increases network usage. According to Google, all these apps have been removed from the Play Games Pack and the Play Games Offer Protection to block these apps on the user’s device.
