Elon Musk Starlink to Compete with Jio in Satellite tv for pc web consents for Indian law

Elon Musk’s satellite internet company Starlink is allegedly going to be available in India for providing internet. According to a report by Moneycontrol, Starlink is going to work in India, agreeing to follow some necessary government rules. Under these rules, the company will have to store all its data inside India. Government access will have to be approved if necessary for security.

To provide satellite based internet service in India, Starlink will need a special license, called GMPCS license. Before giving this license to the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), companies need to meet strict data localization rules. According to the report, Starlink is ready to follow these rules. However, no official agreement has been reached yet.

Let us tell you that recently there was President Chuvav in the US, in which Allen Musk has supported Donald Trump which can help in the global plan of Starlink. Trump has indicated to give Musk a responsibility in his administration. Starlink is likely to benefit from this, as it wants to expand worldwide including India.

Starlink applied for GMPCS license in October 2022, while for additional permission, India’s space regulator, has also applied to the IN-Space. IN-Space recently asked Starlink and Amazon Kuiper to provide more information to approve. At the same time, another regulator is working on the rules of pricing and distribution of TRAI satellite spectrum (radio frequency which is necessary for companies to provide internet from space). TRAI’s last guideline is expected to arrive by December.

Indian telecom providers like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Concept will compete with Starlink and other international satellite providers. He says that these companies should buy spectrum through auction to clean fair competition, especially in urban areas where satellite internet will compete with mobile internet directly. Starlink believes that satellite should be behaved separately from the general telecom network with the Internet. The satellite spectrum should be allotted without auction.
