Crypto emerges rapidly in the world Blockchain Platform Solana Now is going to get a new look. Anza, a new technology company from Solana Labs, has recently introduced a new consensus protocol called ‘Alpenglow’, which is considered to be the biggest technical change in the history of Solana.
What is Alpenglow?
AnZA’s research team said in a statement on May 19 that Alpenglow is not only a new Consensus Programs, but the biggest change in Solana’s core protocols so far. The purpose of this protocol is to make the blockchain work so fast that it can compete with the existing speed of the Internet.
Alpenglow is divided into two main parts
Votor – It manages the voting transaction and process to finalize the block.
Rotor – This will replace Solana’s current timestamping technology ‘Evidence of Historical Past’ and will help to take all the nodes in the network rapidly.
What will be the benefit of this?
Anza’s team claims that with the help of Alpenglow, Solana Community will be able to finalize the block in 150 milliseconds only. This speed is so fast that it can be compared to existing internet services such as Google or FB Responsiveness.
Laquetan of 150 milliseconds means – real time performance. That is, now such apps and games can be made on Solana, which give instant response to the user exactly like Web2.
How to work Votor?
Votor will replace the current consensus system Towerbft of Solana. This will work on two types of voting modes:

If 80% of the network’s stake holders are active, then the block will be finalized in just one round.

If 60% of stake holders are active, it will finalize the block in two rounds.
Both these modes will continue to run together and what is complete first will be considered the final.
The special feature of this model is that it will work well even in “Harsh Network Conditions” i.e. difficult network conditions.
Will it fix Solana’s network problems?
Although Alpenglow is bringing a lot of new, but the old problem of Solana Community will not end completely. Currently, Solana Community is running only on the same client called Agave. In such a situation, if there is any bug or security flaw in it, the entire network can stop.
But it is a matter of relief that a new validator client named Firdaanceer is going to be launched on Solana’s mennet this year. This will provide client diversity to the network, that is, if one client fails, then the other will be able to support.
