According to a report by Bleeping Laptop, Dr. Researchers at Internet have discovered a spyware named ‘Spinok’ in more than 100 Android apps, which works to steal the store personal data on the smartphone. The more dangerous thing than this is that spyware is also capable of sending stolen data to the remote server. This spyware is hidden as SDK module and looks valid at first sight.
Spinoke spyware allegedly promises to give daily rewards to users through spin wheels such as minigames. It also extracts the sensor data from the user’s phone as well as the data from the gyroscope and magnetometer and checks whether it is running in the phone.
The report states that Spieware has infected more than 100 apps on Google Play Games Gather, which have been downloaded more than 400 million times in total. However, the report also states that many of these apps have already been removed from the Play Store, if any of these apps are on your smartphone, you should remove them immediately. You can see the top 10 apps to be downloaded the most often among these and the entire list is present here.
